How To Take Care OF Your Apple iPad
Extend Your iPad’s Battery Life
Even though the iPad already come’s with an amazingly long-lasting battery- atleast 9 hours- we should be careful not to take the battery on our iPad for granted. Because the battery last’s for so long – we many time’s end up taking the battery for granted, or forgetting to re-charge the battery before it goes completely dead.
But just because the iPad battery lasts so long, does not mean that we shouldnt consider way’s of
extending the iPad’s battery life.
One of the first thing’s I would recommend is playing with the various setting’s on the ipad itself- there are multiple setting’s for power-saving and other type of battery and power related options- pretty much , just like a laptop does.
The iPad Battery and Weather
Alot of us , when we first get our iPad grow very attached to it. Its alot more than just a digital reading device- and we often get to the point where we just dont like being without it- this could cause problems, depending on how you travel, where you live and the time of year it is.
Im not sure if you are aware of this but- over heating and chilly temperatures DO have an effect on the iPad’s battery, as well as the iPad. And the best temperature for the iPad battery and the iPad itself is a comfortable room temperature 72 degree’s.
This is important knowledge for extending the iPad battery life.
Keep your battery away from anything over 95 degree’s or under 32 degree’s and that should help you to avoid negative’s effect’s to your iPad’s battery.
Adjusting iPad Settings To Extend iPad Battery Life

First of all- if you arent using or just dont use wi-fi – TURN IT OFF. Sound’s obvious , but sometime’s we just dont think or consider these type’s of things when we start using our iPad and having fun with it. Another thing I would suggest, is running the iPad battery COMPLETELY down , and ONLY AFTER the iPad is totally out of juice should you start re-charging it. This will help to ensure that your iPad battery keep’s it’s longevity.
Another thing to watch out for is overheating. Sometime’s when we are charging our iPad, it can become hot- hotter than usual. That doesnt necessarily mean that there is anything wrong with the iPad- but if it does, you should avoid charging your iPad with any of the protection gears- like the iPad case or anything constricting like that.
If you have
wi-fi AND 3G- use the wi-fi. It consumes alot less power, and it is actually known for working faster. Making decisions like these will help extend your iPad’s battery life in the end.
Here is a quick list of other things you can do to help save your batteries power on a regular basis:
- Minimize Screen Brightness – Settings -> Brightness & Wallpaper
- Minimize Location Services – Settings -> General -> Location Services
- Fetch Mail Less Frequently – Use manual mail fetch mode – Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Fetch New Data” and tap Manually
- Accept Software Updates – many updates will help to increase the iPad battery life
These are just some of the simple thing’s you can do to extend battery life- not only that but you will find that they will also help to protect your iPad and keep it in tip-top shape for as long as possible.
